During seven months of 2003, the total volume of auto cargo transportation in the country increased by 7,6 percent compared to the same period of 2002.

Some 32,8 million tons of cargo have been transported from the beginning of the year. It is considerably more than the forecast. Nevertheless, the volume of cargo turnover reached 3,3 billion tons/km, having increased by 13,7 percent. Growth of passenger auto transportation came to 2 percent and reached 451,2 thousand people. The share of private sector has increased in cargo and passenger transportation.
