THREE AZERBAIJANI GYMNASTS COMPETE IN EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Azerbaijani rhythmic gymnastics team will participate at the 20th European championship to be held in Kiev on June 4-6. The national team consists of Dinara Gimatova, Anna Gurbanova and Valeria Yegay as substitute. Azerbaijani gymnasts numbered 13 will compete in “B” group. In total, national sport complex will bring together 92 gymnasts from 31 countries. The two days of the competitions will define European champion among national teams and 26 best gymnasts. The absolute winner of the European championship will be announced on June 6.
The working group of the competition will accompany national team in order to study the experience of the host-country in terms of new computer and TV technologies. The acquired knowledge will help organize high-level world championship to be held in Baku in early October 2005.
The press-service said that President of the Technical committee for rhythmic gymnastics of the International Gymnastics Federation Egle Abruzini stated that she is optimistic about the upcoming world championship in Baku ‘cause previous world cup stages were high-level.
