TRANSPORTATION VIA GAS AND OIL PIPELINES RISE IN JANUARY- SEPTEMBER

Oil pipelines hauled 34.7 million tons of crude over the past nine months of 2008, according to the State Stats Committee.

Four third of oil was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export pipeline. Transportation via the oil pipelines increased 19.8 percent year-on-year.

Transportation via gas pipelines reached 8 million tons, up by 62% on the same period last year. Transportation via the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum pipeline accounted for 29.2% of the overall amount of transportation. It carried 3.4 billion cubic meters.
