TREATMENT OF CONSUMPTIVE GOES WELL IN GEORGIA

According to the experts, 69% of consumptives are undergoing successful treatment in Georgia, AzerTAj correspondent reports. Executive head of the Georgian National Tuberculosis Center Archil Salagaya advised the World Health Organization had worked out a strategy for control over tuberculosis worldwide. Therefore, according to him, the revelation of the disease should reach up to 70%, and recovery index up to 85%. However, it is very difficult achieve the results here in Georgia; usually, people conceal their disease for national-mental reasons, he said. Today, treatment of tuberculosis - except surgery - are free of charge. Without treatment 50% of patients die in two years, 25%- become chronic invalid, 25% undergo treatment interruptedly.
