Chairman of the Milli Majlis Murtuz Alaskarov received the delegation of Turkey led by chairman of the Right Way Party Mehmet Agar.

Having greeted the guests, Milli Majlis chairman said that friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries have ancient historical roots. In addition, Azerbaijan people and the leader of the entire Turkish world Heydar Aliyev have special services in bringing these relations up this level of strategic cooperation. As Heydar Aliyev said, we are one nation, two states. It is necessary to make efforts to realize the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Erzerum projects more active. These projects will play a major role in improving the welfare of both peoples.

Then, Murtuz Alaskarov updated the guests on the inter-parliamentary ties, fair position of Azerbaijan towards resolution of Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno Garabakh problem.

Having thanked for the warm welcome, Mehmet Agar said that the primary intent of his visit to Baku is to participate in the ceremony dedicated to the 40th day of death of Heydar Aliyev and extend condolences to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, his family and relatives and people of Azerbaijan.

“You are absolutely right that esteemed Heydar Aliyev played a special role in developing friendly ties between our countries. The realization of the Bakuj-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and other projects guarantees a happy future of our peoples. As to the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Garabakh project, we support fair position of Azerbaijan. As long as Armenia pursues aggressive policy Turkey will never contact this country. This position remains unchanged whoever is in power in Turkey.”
