Tbilisi to co-host postponed EuroBasket tournament in 2022

Tbilisi, January 24, AZERTAC

On September 1-18, 2022, Georgia will co-host a major continental competition, the 41st edition of EuroBasket 2022, that will involve 32 teams from Europe along with Italy, Germany and the Czech Republic, Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili announced at government meeting.

“A new European-standard sports palace is being built in Tbilisi which will be completed this summer,” the Georgian Prime Minister said, adding “we will hold the European Championship in Tbilisi with dignity.”
