Baku, December 17, AZERTAC

Three people were killed and twelve others were injured when a factory building collapsed in Dzerzhinsky, in the Moscow Region, the Emergencies Ministry told TASS on Monday.

"Three bodies have been pulled from the rubble," a spokesman said.

Six people were sent to hospitals with various injuries and six others received medical assistance but refused to be hospitalized, the region’s Health Minister Dmitry Matveyev said. Four of these victims were removed from the rubble, a source in the emergency services said.

There are no more people under the rubble, the Emergencies Ministry’s press service said.

According to the Emergencies Ministry, concrete constructions of a one-storey building collapsed during the repair works. The building is owned by the Technogroup enterprise, which manufactures equipment for ventilation systems.

The area of the collapse reached 130 square meters. Some 116 people and 35 pieces of equipment were involved in the rescue effort.
