Transport minister: Armenia can not use BTK railway until it liberates Azerbaijani territories
Baku, February 13 (AZERTAC). “The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project will connect Europe with Asia. This is a new project. After its completion, we will start implementing another project that will stretch to London,” Azerbaijani Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov told press conference in Tbilisi on Wednesday.
The minister also said that “the project is developed in accordance with the Georgian-Azerbaijan-Turkish interstate agreement and Armenia will not be allowed to use the railway until it liberates the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.”
Tbilisi on Wednesday hosted a press conference following the meeting of transport ministers of Eastern Partnership Program’s member states. The press conference was attended by member-countries of Eastern Partnership program. The conference was opened by Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia.
