Turkish shooter Akgun bags first gold of Games

Turkey's Omer Akgun claimed the first gold medal of the 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games as he won the men's 10-metre air rifle final in Baku on Saturday.

The Turk, who finished second in the 2016 World Cup, scored an impressive 249.8 points to dominate a tightly-contested final.

He finished ahead of silver medalist Md Rabbi Hasan Munna of Bangladesh with 245.5 points while Uzbekistan's Sadkhan Sayfuddinov took the bronze with 224.1 points.
