Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Republic Artur Rasizade received a delegation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) led by the minister of Communications Ahmad ben Humaid at-Tayer, 10 July.Greeting the guests, the Premier said the United Arab Emirates is the friendly country to Azerbaijan. Despite the existence of mutual beneficial cooperation between the two countries, it is for the first time that such a high level delegation visits Azerbaijan, Mr. Rasizade emphasized. In the course of the meeting, it was noted that the delegation had useful meetings and good results. After return to the power by President Heydar Aliyev, stability was established and large-scale economic reforms were launched in the Country. Premier Artur Rasizade highlighted the guests on the accomplishments of Azerbaijan. But there are still problems in the Republic, he added. And the crucial problem is the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno Karabakh conflict that remains unsolved hitherto. Though ceasefire was reached, the ‘no war, no peace’ situation cannot last any more, the Premier stressed. Then, Prime Minister spoke in detail on sequences of the undeclared war by Armenia against Azerbaijan, on the deprivation Azerbaijan is undergoing because of military aggression. Azerbaijan wished peaceful solution of the problem, but destructive position of Armenia impedes it. The Premier stated that it has been for two years since the Embassy of Azerbaijan functions in the UAE. We would like to cooperate with your country in all fields, are keen in expanding our relations, he said. Visit of such a high level delegation will tackle this intention, the premier underlined.Expressing his gratitude to the Premier for warm reception, Mr. Ahmad ben Humaid at-Tayer asked him to convey personal greetings and best wishes of the President of his Country Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan to His Excellency, Mr. Heydar Aliyev. The foundation was laid thanks to the efforts of the heads of states of the two countries, he stressed.Noting they were kindly welcomed everywhere in Azerbaijan, the Minister said the visit was prepared very well. The delegation held necessary negotiations, signed documents on civil aviation, discussed drafts on telecommunications and post, Ahmad ben Humaid at-Tayer said that additional talks on involving, agitation and protection of investments, avoidance from double taxation were underway between the foreign policy departments of the two countries. The to-be-adopted documents, and signed contracts will promote improvement of the well being of the two nations, enable to create opportunities to expand cooperation.Noting that he was eyewitness of positive alterations in the Republic, Mr. Ahmad ben Humaid at-Tayer said he was proud of such peaceful transition from the administrative-commandment economy to market relations. Both of our countries situate in a geo-strategic space, he underscored. And for this reason, cooperation of the two states will be useful and efficient. But it necessitates mutual beneficial visits of top officials of the two countries. One of the major points is to study investment feasibilities of the countries that would make efficient our cooperation.Touching upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, the Minister said the United Arab Emirates adheres a principle, unchangeable and clear position.
