UNITED STATES KEEN ON PROTECTION OF AZERBAIJAN’S FRONTIERS

For the last period of 2003, U.S. Administration has assigned about $12,5 million to Azerbaijan law-enforcement bodies for security purposes and maritime borders protection.

U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish stated that the interests of the United States lie in the protection of Azerbaijan’s borders and development of security actions. Today, Azerbaijani peacemakers take an active part in the combat against terrorism. A two-day training aimed at combating against drug trafficking were held in Baku as a continuation of discussions revolving around development of the new forms of cooperation.
