US ADMINISTRATION TO CONTINUE AVIAN INFLUENZA ASSISTANCE TO AZERBAIJAN

US administration will continue to assist Azerbaijan in the fight against avian influenza, representative of the US Department of Agriculture Robert Tanaka said during his visit aimed at learning of the bird flu situating in Azerbaijan.

According to R. Tanaka, during his meetings in the Ministries of Health and Agriculture he was updated on the bird flu threat in Azerbaijan, combat against bird flue and areas, which need additional assistance.

No bird flue outbreak has been registered in Azerbaijan this year, he said. US Administration has provided assistance to fight the avian flue. Today, US administrating and Azerbaijani experts are to define future assistance areas.

R. Tanaka praised the anti-bird flu efforts of the state commission, which includes respective government agencies.
