U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE HAS CONCERN IN DEVELOPMENT OF TOURIST INDUSTRY IN AZERBAIJAN
Master plan for development of tourist industry in Azerbaijan will be drawn up in accordance with the agreement, which has been reached between the Government of Azerbaijan and United States Department of State. In this connection, the State Department expert, President of ‘LLC’ Scott Vain has arrived in Azerbaijan. In the course of the one-week visit, the American expert is expected to negotiate with leaders of the ministries of Economic Development, Foreign Affairs, State Concern ‘AZAL’, and travel companies’ officials, and to visit a number of tourist centers in various regions of the county. Tourist business opportunities in Azerbaijan will be reflected in the final report to be submitted by him to the Department of State.
The expert was received, August 7, by Minister of Youth, Sport and Tourism of Azerbaijan Abulfaz Garayev, who updated the guest on the ministry’s activity and tourism potential of Azerbaijan, which in soviet times had been approved as a zone of health and recreation of All-Union importance.
Speaking of the political and economical stability established Azerbaijan due to the domestic and foreign policy of President Heydar Aliyev, the mister stressed that there is a real perspective for flourishing of tourism industry in the country.
