UZBEK FAMOUS PEOPLE SHOW INTEREST IN OCTOBER 15 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
The October 15 presidential elections in Azerbaijan are the focus of attention of the famous political figures and workers of culture in Uzbekistan. The Independent Press Center reported citing the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that the big role in this had been played by numerous meetings and talks held by the Tashkent-based Embassy. Chief Director of the Uzbek State Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after Alishe Navoi, Peopl’s artist of Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, laureate of State Prize Firudin Safarov said: I wish the elections to be held successfully in our motherland, and the people to make their right choice. Azerbaijan’s pearl - Garabakh - is occupied by Armenian aggressors; over one million people have been ousted from the lands of their fathers and grandfathers. This is our greatest problem, and I am sure a new president will do solve this problem.
Academician Najim Khamrayev, People’s Artist of Uzbekistan Mansur Tashmatov expressed their confidence the Azerbaijan people will vote for the candidate able to preserve the economic development
The first secretary of the Central Council of People’s Democratic Party of Uzbekistan Abdulhafiz Salamov said: Azerbaijan is our reliable partner: our countries are interested in realization of the large-scale international projects including TRASECA. We have been closely watching the processes in Azerbaijan and glad of its achievements. We believe the October 15 elections will be democratic, meeting international standards, and the wise nation will make its right choice.
