Ukrainian Deputy FM hails role of civil society in Azerbaijan

Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar hailed the role of civil society in Azerbaijan as he met with President of the International Eurasia Press Fund (IEPF) Umud Mirzayev as part of his official visit to Azerbaijan.
Umud Mirzayev highlighted the activities and international cooperation of IEPF, pointing to the projects which were successfully implemented by the organization in the conflict-affected regions as a result of the the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The IEPF president gave detailed information about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and presented photos of the destructed by Armenian armed forces infrastructure and cultural heritage in the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
The Ukrainian Deputy FM described both Ukraine and Azerbaijan as the countries suffering from the protracted conflicts, and forced to face the negative consequences of the war - refugees and IDPs, as well as environmental disasters.
“Thus, Ukraine is interested in taking advantages of Azerbaijan's experience in addressing the humanitarian problems that provoked by the war for more than 25 years,” he said.
Deputy FM Bodnar underlined the IEPF's activities, especially in regions close to the war zone. He also hailed the organization’s leadership among other NGOs in the region.
