Victims of Khojaly genocide commemorated in Sweden
Baku, February 28 (AZERTAC). A ceremony to commemorate the victims of the Khojaly genocide has been organized by "Khazar" Azerbaijani-Swedish Friendship Society in the city of Malmö, Sweden.According to the State Committee on Diaspora, representatives of associations and clubs operating in the cities of Malmö, Lund, Stockholm, Gothenburg, Kalmar and Linkoping, attended the event. he "Armenian Terror" documentary was screened at the event. The participants condemned the actions committed in Khojaly by the Armenian fascists, accused them of committing crimes against humanity.The participants decided to organize rallies on a central square in Malmö on February 26 next year.
The Khojaly Massacre was the killing of hundreds of ethnic Azerbaijani civilians from the Azerbaijani-populated town of Khojaly on 25–26 February 1992 by the Armenian armed forces during the Nagorno-Karabakh War. According to the Azerbaijani side, as well as Memorial Human Rights Center, Human Rights Watch and other international observers, the massacre was committed by the ethnic Armenian armed forces, reportedly with help of the Russian 366th Motor Rifle Regiment, apparently not acting on orders from the command. The death toll provided by Azerbaijani authorities is 613 civilians, including 106 women and 83 children.
