Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, paying a working visit to New York to participate in the debates of the 58th session of the UN General Assembly, held a number of bilateral meetings on September 24.

Prime Minister Ilham Aliyev met with the Administrator of UN Development Program Marc Mallock Brown. Prime Minister said that the country is currently living its important days on the eve of the Presidential elections.

Speaking on economic policy of the state and its achievements the head of the government pointed out that as a result of reforms carried out in the country, average economic growth comes to 8-10 percent annually, the level of inflation remains at the lowest point. It gives an opportunity to take necessary actions for social security of the population.

The parties shared their views on actions directed to poverty reduction in Azerbaijan.
