Windows 7 localized for Azerbaijani market
Baku, November 19 (AZERTAC). Microsoft Corp. has announced the localization of its new operating system (OS) Windows 7 for Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani version of the new OS is available over the English version of the OS, a special language pack - Language Interface Pack (LIP) can be downloaded at the local representation of the corporation - www.microsoft.az.
The Azerbaijani version of Windows 7 OS is expected to be unveiled at the international telecommunication exhibition Bakutel 2010, to be held on 23-26 November, 2010 in Baku.
“Localization of the new version of Windows into Azerbaijani language once again shows interest in Azerbaijan as a country where information technologies are developing systematically. Our aim is to make the product affordable for most part of Azerbaijani population. Microsoft Corp. will continue the process of localization of its products into Azerbaijan in future as well,” said Microsoft-Azerbaijan general director Teymur Akhundov.
As a result of localization of Windows 7 operating system into Azerbaijani, dictionary of commands and words used in the products of Microsoft (Glossary) was created, the interface has been localized into the Azerbaijani language (Language Interface Pack), a list of words and phrases that are not advisable for use in localized products of Microsoft was also created (Azeri Policheck).
Note that Microsoft has localized its main software products, including operating systems Windows XP, Vista and Microsoft Office 2003/2007 into Azerbaijani language.
