XINHUA highlights President Ilham Aliyev's Islamic solidarity remarks

Baku, June 14, AZERTAC

China's Xinhua agency has republished AZERTAC's article highlighting President Ilham Aliyev's remarks on the Islamic solidarity as he met with ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan.

The article quotes President Ilham Aliyev as saying: "We, the Muslim countries must peacefully resolve the problems between us".

"Azerbaijan contributes to the strengthening of Islamic Solidarity. This year was declared as the 'Year of Islamic Solidarity' in Azerbaijan. A number of events were held in our country and abroad during the year. Declaring 2017 as the 'Year of Islamic Solidarity' reflects our policy and our intentions," the head of state emphasized.

The article also draws readers' attention to the remarks by Azerbaijani President on the Islamic Solidarity Games recently held in Baku: "The Islamic Solidarity Games is not just a sporting event. We wanted these Games to unite the Islamic world. The athletes and visitors lived as a family when they were in Baku, and I am sure that the Islamic solidarity has reached the highest peak in those days. We must try to keep the height of this solidarity, and I am sure we will achieve that," the article concludes.
