“The resolution of conflicts in the OSCE area, especially in the South Caucasus is possible only through constructive dialogue on the condition of full compliance with the principles of the Helsinki Final Act,” said head of the Azerbaijani delegation Bahar Muradova as she addressed the 18th Winter Meeting of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Vienna, Austria.
Muradova noted that the recent positive statements of the sides on the negotiation process show that new impulses have been created to bring the two communities of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan closer to each other and prepare the two peoples for peace. She emphasized that parliamentarians should take advantage of new opportunities for peaceful settlement of all conflicts within the OSCE area.
The 2019 Winter Meeting also featured speeches by President of the Austrian National Council Wolfgang Sobotka, OSCE PA President George Tsereteli, OSCE Chair-in-Office and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Miroslav Lajčák, OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger, and others.
