® Prime Cotton: A new name in Azerbaijan's cotton industry
MKT Production and Commerce transitions to Prime Cotton
MKT Production and Commerce LLC, part of GP Cotton Holdings and a leading entity in Azerbaijan's cotton industry, will now operate under the name Prime Cotton LLC. This rebranding move is intended to establish a strong corporate identity and a refreshed image following the company's modernization and development projects in recent years.
Prime Cotton's logo represents its commitment to natural values, quality, and corporate standards. The blue cotton flower symbolizes product purity, green emphasizes ecological responsibility, and circular elements reflect collaboration and precision. The simplicity and modernity of the Raleway font enhance brand reliability, while the symmetric design conveys respect for nature and humanity. The logo visually embodies Prime Cotton’s commitment to quality and sustainable growth.
In 2024, as the company celebrates its 30th year in the cotton industry, it has expanded significantly through its successful operations and is now active in 15 of Azerbaijan's 20 cotton-producing regions. Prime Cotton currently stands as Azerbaijan’s largest cotton producer by land area. Thanks to a successful strategy, it has become one of the top ten non-oil sector exporters in recent years and has led exports in the first nine months of 2024.
Prime Cotton will participate in the COP29 Global Conference, showcasing its invaluable experience and sustainability efforts in cotton production. Visitors can stop by GP Cotton Holdings’ stand to learn more about Prime Cotton's sustainable practices and innovative approaches in cotton farming. Rovshan Mahmudov, the company's Executive Director, will speak on "Better Cotton" in the Green Zone on November 14 and on "Soil Health" in the Blue Zone on November 21 at COP29.
Rovshan Mahmudov, Prime Cotton’s Executive Director, commented: “Sustainability is one of our strategic priorities, and we will continue to implement innovative approaches. COP29 provides an important platform for sharing our experiences in sustainability and exchanging ideas with other participants.”
Prime Cotton’s extensive infrastructure includes advanced textile facilities such as the Baku Textile Branch, Sumgait Textile Branch, Mingachevir Textile Park, and Shirvan Oil Refinery, alongside initial cotton processing branches in 11 regions and Area-Type Branches in three regions. Additionally, Prime Cotton operates Innovation Farms in six regions, implementing cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices in cotton farming.
Innovation Farms serve as testing grounds for new cotton varieties and pesticides, utilizing the latest technology to enhance product quality. International cotton varieties are trialed here, with results shared with local farmers to boost productivity.
Adhering to both local and international standards, the company exports its yarn, cotton oil, and other products to Turkey, Russia, the CIS, Europe, and the Middle East.
