Ahmad Ismayilov: Azerbaijan is constantly targeted by various circles who intend to pollute its information environment

“Our country is constantly targeted by various circles who intend to pollute its information environment. Such threats affecting the media ecosystem of Azerbaijan make it necessary to increase competitive news production in media and enhance media literacy skills to prevent the public from being influenced by false information,” said Ahmad Ismayilov, Executive Director of the Media Development Agency, as he addressed the "Media Literacy" conference held in Baku.
The Executive Director noted that the Law "On Media", which came into effect in 2022, for the first time defined media literacy, mandating the Media Development Agency to roll out a series of measures to enhance media literacy. “Having studied international experience, the Agency has developed a unified internal strategy aimed at target groups to improve media literacy skills in society,” Ahmad Ismayilov noted.
