Anar Guliyev: We highly value the contributions of communities to sustainable development worldwide

“The past few days have been important not only for Azerbaijan, but for urban development as a whole. We are working through all local mechanisms to promote more inclusive urban planning and aim to align Azerbaijan’s policies with the global agenda,” said Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during the official closing press conference of the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13).
Anar Guliyev said the discussions reflected a strong level of consensus and praised the support of UN-Habitat. He noted that the forum gathered over 58,000 participants and 400 speakers from different countries, adding that it laid the foundation for future cooperation.
He also highlighted Azerbaijan’s commitment to sustainable development through reconstruction, smart village projects, and capacity-building initiatives in the liberated territories.
