Assistant to the US President: COP29 can facilitate a really important and timely dialogue

“In a very short period of time, we've seen COP29 stood up in a way that can facilitate a really important and timely dialogue,” Assistant to the US President and White House National Climate Advisor Ali Zaidi told journalists.
“I hope that the COP29 will become a platform where we reinforce the conviction that the Dubai consensus represented. We need to begin the transition away from fossil fuels.
I also hope that the Baku-hosted COP29 that shows advancement on implementation relative to the tripling renewables and tripling nuclear goals set out at Dubai. I hope the COP29 will gather together the number of countries that will chase down an ambitious goal and target,” he added.
