AZERBAIJAN, GEORGIA: REGULAR SESSION OF STATE COMMISSIONS ON DELIMITATION OF BORDERS HELD IN BAKU
The Working Group of the Commissions on delimitation and demarcation of borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia held their regular session in Baku, 6 March.
Deputy foreign minister, chairman of state commission Khalaf Khalafov spoke of the necessity of continuation of the discussions on delimitation of borders between the two countries. He informed on positive move in the talks during the Tbilisi meeting. As stated, the expert group has prepared many documents, expressing hope that the Baku meeting will be rather fruitful.
The delimitation of borders will be solved on the basis of friendly and mutual neighborhood policy, Mr. Khalafov stressed. “Our borders should be the borders of friendship and cooperation”, he said.
Chairman of the Georgian state commission Georgi Manchgaladze said his country is strategic partner of Azerbaijan, underlining the importance of expansion of cooperation. He expressed consent with the work of state commissions, noting that the delimitation of borders will soon find its solution.
Then, the meeting continued behind the close doors.
