AZERBAIJAN, LITHUANIA: NEW PHASE IN DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS OF FRIENDSHIP AND COOPERATION
OFFICIAL VISIT OF PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF LITHUANIA VALDAS ADAMKUS TO AZERBAIJAN
AZERBAIJAN-LITHUANIA BUSINESS FORUM
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Lithuania Valdas Adamkus attended the Forum.
Minister of Economic Development of Azerbaijan Heydar Babayev made an opening address, greeted the heads of state. Speaking of the economic accomplishments of Azerbaijan, the Minister noted the highest rate of growth of GDP in the country, stressing that the country has become a leading country with its global power projects.
Azerbaijan pursues the policy of integration to the European structures, the Minister said. And the Republic has joined the European Union’s “New Neighboring Policy”.
Dwelling on Azerbaijan-Lithuania economic cooperation, Minister Heydar Babayev said that the goods turnover between two countries equaled 7 mullion dollars. He expressed hope that the Forum would important role in expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation, in establishment of business ties among the business circles of Azerbaijan and Lithuania.
