AZERBAIJAN, RUSSIA: REGULAR SESSION OF STATE COMMISSION ON DELIMITATION OF BORDERS COMMENCED IN BAKU
Regular session of the joint commission of Azerbaijan and Russia on delimitation and demarcation of state borders between the two countries commenced in Baku, 27 March. The 2-day session is to focus on three unsolved questions concerning the item.
The border between Azerbaijan and Russia does not separate us, on the contrary, it creates opportunity for cooperation, Khalaf Khalafov, deputy foreign minister of Azerbaijan, head of the state commission from the Azerbaijan side, told.
At his words, prior to the 12th meeting, the experts have conducted discussions on appropriate issues. He expressed hope that the meeting would reach certain agreement.
Mr. Khalafov noted dynamic development of the relations between the two countries in all fields, existence of effective dialogue at the state level. Goods turnover between the two countries is growing and the citizens of both countries enjoy visa-free regime what creates opportunity for development of all-round relations.
“Solution of the discussed questions enables, in turn, to abolish many political, economic and social problems. Therefore, we have to speed up the work, accept decision to satisfy both sides”, Alexander Yakovenko, the head of the Commission on Russian side said.
