Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum features panel session on international practices to counter disinformation

The Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan Media Forum titled “In pursuit of truth in the digital age: Combating disinformation” featured a panel discussion on international practices to counter disinformation.
The panel session was moderated by Dilshod Saidjonov, First Deputy Director of the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.
In his remarks, Sanjar Valiyev, Director of the Information-Analytical Centre for International Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, noted that Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan share common interest in sustainability and durability of the international system.
Rovshan Mammadov, Chairman of the "Azerbaijan Television and Radio Broadcasting" CJSC, emphasized that Azerbaijan had faced a lot of fake news during the Second Karabakh War. He said that despite this, the country had successfully fought both on the battlefield and in the information space.
Akbar Rizayev, head of the Center for Mass Communications at the Agency of Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan highlighted the activity of the center.
Ilgar Huseynov, Director General of Azerbaijan’s Trend News Agency underscored the challenges in tackling disinformation.
