Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission announces general voting results of municipal elections

Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) held a meeting Friday on the outcomes of the municipal elections held in the country, chaired by Mazahir Panahov.
The meeting highlighted the excellent organization of the elections, which were conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.
A total of 16,092 candidates were competing for 8,071 municipal member positions across 685 municipalities nationwide.
The voting was conducted in 5,846 polling stations across 118 constituencies.
A total of 70,625 local observers have been registered to monitor the elections.
To ensure transparency, webcams were installed at 1,000 polling stations.
The CEC then unanimously adopted a decision on the results of the municipal elections held in the country.
Furthermore, CEC members approved the final protocol on the general results of the municipal elections.
