An auction featuring an extensive collection of costumes, props, and set pieces from the 'Games of Thrones' universe is set to take place this October through Heritage Auctions, according to Euronews.

With more than 2,000 items spread across 900 lots, the auction will include rare pieces such as a melted version of the Iron Throne, Jaime Lannister’s full suit of armour and sword, as well as prosthetic teeth used for the White Walkers.

Starting bids will range from $500 to $20,000 (around €450 to €18,000).

Other notable items up for bid are Daenerys Targaryen’s cloaks and leather outfits, Jon Snow’s infamous Longclaw sword, and the Hand of the Queen Pin worn by Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister.

Even items that didn’t boast much screen time, such as the bell used during Cersei Lannister’s walk of shame and bloodstained garments from the infamous Red Wedding, are expected to draw fans’ attention during bidding.

For Jay Roewe, HBO's senior vice president of global incentives and production planning, the auction is a chance for fans to “grab a piece of history”.

“‘Game of Thrones’ was a zeitgeist moment in our culture. It was a zeitgeist moment in high-end television. It was a zeitgeist moment in terms of HBO,” says Roewe.

Although the series started in 2011 and several items in the auction date back to then, they have not been “collecting dust,” Roewe adds. HBO had been carefully preserving thousands of props, costumes and set pieces since the series began for use on potential spinoffs or sequels.

With 'House of The Dragon' having recently completed its second season and other projects firmly in development, Roewe says the studio now knows what they’ll need to hold on to and what they can part ways with.

For fans who want to snag a piece of 'Game of Thrones', the vast collection is now open for preliminary bidding with the auction taking place from 10 to 12 October through Heritage Auctions in Dallas.
