CEO of BirdLife International: We want to see rapid climate action and a massive transition in harmony with the natural world

“The reason to attend COP29 is a global climate issues. We want to see rapid climate action and a massive transition in harmony with the natural world, because we face both a nature and a climate emergency, and so we need action fast,” Martin Harper, CEO of BirdLife International, told AZERTAC.
“What I expect from COP29 is the resolution of the issues that were agreed previously in Paris, but still outstanding. I am confident that the accumulated issues will be resolved. We need to keep sure that the ambition in terms of finance is right. We need to make sure that governments basically are prepared to deliver the nationally determined contributions at the right scale by February. And we need the countries basically work together to try and tackle the nature and climate emergency in an integrated way”.
The CEO of BirdLife International also spoke of his warm welcome in Azerbaijan.
