Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir meets US President Donald Trump

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, met with President of the United States Donald Trump at the White House. The high-level engagement took place in the Cabinet Room over a luncheon, followed by a visit to the Oval Office.
According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), President Trump was accompanied by Secretary of State Senator Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, the U.S. Special Representative for Middle Eastern Affairs. Field Marshal Asim Munir was joined by Pakistan’s National Security Advisor.
During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff conveyed the deep appreciation of the Government and people of Pakistan for President Trump’s constructive and results-oriented role in facilitating a ceasefire between Pakistan and India amid the recent regional crisis. The COAS commended President Trump’s statesmanship and his ability to address the multifaceted challenges faced by the global community.
In response, President Trump lauded Pakistan’s continued efforts to promote regional peace and stability and praised the strong counter-terrorism cooperation between the two nations. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration in the field of counter-terrorism.
Discussions also covered opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation across various sectors, including trade, economic development, mining, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency, and emerging technologies. President Trump expressed strong interest in building a mutually beneficial trade partnership with Pakistan based on long-term strategic alignment and shared interests.
They also held a detailed exchange of views on the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, underscoring the importance of a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
President Trump commended Field Marshal Asim Munir’s leadership and decisiveness amid complex regional dynamics. As a gesture of goodwill, Field Marshal Munir extended an official invitation to President Trump, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.
Although the meeting was initially scheduled for one hour, it extended to over two hours, reflecting the cordiality and depth of the discussions. According to the statement, the engagement marks a significant step toward strengthening the longstanding partnership between Pakistan and the United States, built on shared goals of peace, stability, and prosperity.
