DELEGATION OF MINISTRY FOR AGRICULTURE PARTICIPATES IN “GREEN WEEK” INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION - FAIR IN BERLIN
Azerbaijan’s delegation led by Ismat Abbasov, Minister for Agriculture took part in the international exhibition-fair “Green Week” held in Berlin.
“The government of Azerbaijan takes special care to the development of non-oil sector, including agrarian sector, which is the basic aspect for the economic development of the country”, I. Abbasov said in his interview to AZERTAC’s special correspondent.
President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, Germany’s Chancellor Ms. Angela Merkel and other political figures who were attending the exhibition noted that a developed, global agrarian industry is very important for the European Union.
“I consider that the development of the agrarian sector is of great importance for the economic prosperity of our country. Our participation in the exhibition is very useful for Azerbaijan. A memorandum about the process of Azerbaijan’s acceptance to the World Trade Organization was signed within the event. Azerbaijan and Germany estimated the signing of the document as the beginning of cooperative relations between the two countries”, the minister added.
Within the frameworks of Green Week, the Azerbaijan delegation have participated in “Agriculture and bioenergy” East-West Agroforum on 20 January.
