EIGHTY FIVE YEARS PASS SINCE LIBERATION OF BAKU FROM DASHNAK-BOLSHEVIK RULE
TURKISH SOLDIERS COMMEMORATED
Commemoration ceremony on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of liberation of Baku was held on September 15 in Shahidlyar Khiyabani /Martyrs Alley/. In the alley, where brave fighters died for freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan lie, the heroic Turkish soldiers have been commemorated; a wreath on behalf of President of Azerbaijan Republic Heydar Aliyev and Government has been laid on memorial erected in their honor.
Although, it has been 85 years since that day, the fraternal aid rendered by the Turkish Army will never be forgotten, and the next generations of the Azerbaijani people will always remember that with gratefulness.
Present at the ceremony were Chairman of the Milli Majlis Murtuz Alasgarov, Chief of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, first deputy Prime-Minister Artur Rasizadeh, deputy chairmen of the Milli Majlis and deputy Prime-Ministers, Ministers, heads of Committees and companies, Deputies of the Milli Majlis, Ambassador of Turkey in Baku Ahmet Unal Chevigez and representatives of the public.
