Equipment installation finishes at off-shore and ground facilities of North Caspian project as part of Kashagan oil field development
Astana, January 11 (AZERTAC). According to the Kazakh press, equipment installation has finished at the off-shore and ground facilities of the North Caspian project, which is part of the Kashagan oil field development.
Presently, engineers are preparing for the start-up of the new equipment. Oil production at the Kashagan oil deposit that will begin in March will be carried out from an artificial island created at the Caspian Sea. In June 75 000 barrels of oil will be extracted daily from the oil field which has the estimated reserves of 12 billion barrels. Some 300 000 barrels-a-day will be extracted at Kashagan by 2017.
