FIRST WINNERS OF INTERNATIONAL FREESTYLE AND GRECO-ROMAN WRESTLING TOURNAMENT “GOLDEN GRAND PRIX” ANNOUNCED
Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers Rovshan Bayramov (55 kg) and Ilqar Abdulov (74 kg) were among those who mounted the highest step on the podium on the first day of the international freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling tournament “Golden Grand Prix”, which started yesterday at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex in Baku.
The other gold medallists are Agbolaq Ashkani (60 kg, Iran), Hamid Reyhani (66 kg, Iran), Avluca Nazmi (84 kg, Turkey), Vasiliy Teplokov (96 kg, Russia), Georgy Sursunya (120 kg, Kazakhstan).
Three other Azeri wrestlers Javid Abdullayev (55 kg), Fuad Aliyev (60 kg) and Elbrus Mammadov (66 kg) had to be satisfied with bronze.
Women’s competitions start today, while men’s freestyle event commences tomorrow.
The winners will be awarded $5,000, while the second and third (two wrestlers) finishers receive $3,000 and $1,500 respectively.
