Foreign Ministry official: Concrete implementation mechanisms to combat climate change were presented during COP29 in Baku

“The first Global Stocktake (GST) is a vital milestone towards achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement and serves as a roadmap for future efforts. Although the adoption of the GST defined the relevant directions, concrete implementation mechanisms to combat climate change were presented during COP29 held in Baku,” said Shahin Shahyarov, a representative of the COP29 Presidency and Acting Head of the Department of Analysis and Strategic Studies at Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as he addressed the session on "Global Stocktake–NDC Dialogue" at the Bonn climate change conference.
“We are confident that these discussions will cover all thematic areas related to the preparation, review and implementation of NDCs, as well as contribute to strengthening partnership and cooperation,” Shahin Shahyarov added.
