Fuat Oktay: The Shusha Declaration is a testament to Türkiye’s and Azerbaijan’s will to creating a joint future
Baku, December 7, AZERTAC
“We continue to make history in the 21st century with the determined leadership of Azerbaijani and Turkish heads of states and the will of our peoples. The economic and trade relations between the two countries, situated at the crossroads of East and West, Asia and Europe, contribute to the stability and prosperity of both our region and the global economy,” said Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Fuat Oktay as he addressed the international parliamentary conference themed “Parliamentarism: Traditions and Perspectives” held at Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis.
“The solidarity between our countries during the Second Karabakh War in 2020 played a crucial role in reshaping the power balance in the region. The Shusha Declaration, signed in the aftermath of the 44-day Patriotic War, is the key indicator of Türkiye’s and Azerbaijan’s will to forging a joint future. The Shusha Declaration goes beyond a simple alliance as it outlines a clear perspective and roadmap for the future of our relationship. The brotherhood and solidarity we consistently demonstrate, both bilaterally and within all platforms such as the Organization of Turkic States, is the assurance of our joint future,” Fuat Oktay added.
