Global Baku Forum includes panel session on “Rebuilding for Peace-Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Regional Stability”

The 12th Global Baku Forum, organized by the Nizami Ganjavi International Center under the patronage of President Ilham Aliyev, continued with its 6th panel session on the theme “Rebuilding for Peace-Post-Conflict Reconstruction and Regional Stability”.
Moderated by Valdis Zatlers, former President of Latvia, the event featured speeches by Željka Cvijanović, Serb Member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of Nigeria; Natalia Gavrilita, former Prime Minister of Moldova; Djoomart Otorbaev, former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan; Lazar Comanescu, former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania and Secretary General of the Permanent International Secretariat of the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation; Volkan Bozkır, President of the 75th United Nations General Assembly and former Minister of European Union Affairs of the Republic of Türkiye (2015–2016); Anar Guliyev, Chairman of the State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Azerbaijan; and Penny Low, former Member of Parliament of Singapore.
Touching upon the situation in her country, Željka Cvijanović outlined the steps necessary to make Bosnia and Herzegovina a stable and prosperous nation.
In her speech, Natalia Gavrilita discussed the damage caused to trade following the Russia-Ukraine war.
Djoomart Otorbaev praised Azerbaijan’s ongoing reconstruction efforts in Karabakh, emphasizing that he was impressed by the comprehensive plan prepared to ensure post-conflict development in the region.
In his address, Anar Guliyev highlighted that, like many others, Azerbaijan is experiencing the pain of conflict, and provided insights into ongoing restoration and reconstruction efforts in Karabakh and East Zangezur.
In their remarks, the speakers shared their perspectives on rebuilding for peace, post-conflict reconstruction, and regional stability, noting that successful peace and reconstruction efforts require sufficient guarantees and certainty.
Following the discussions, the panel session concluded its work.
