Historic agreement inked between Pakistan’s National Assembly and the Russian State Duma

The Russian Federation and Pakistan have inked a historic agreement during a visit to Moscow by Pakistan’s Speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq. The Chairman of the State Duma of Russia and Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan formally signed an agreement to expand parliamentary cooperation between the two parliamentary forums
The agreement was signed by Speaker Ayaz Sadiq from the Pakistani side and his Russian counterpart Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma. As per the agreement, the two legislative bodies will establish permanent cooperation mechanisms through parliamentary committees, commissions, and parliamentary friendship groups. Both sides agreed to hold its fourth session in Moscow in 2025.
A Pakistani parliamentary delegation led by the Speaker of the National Assembly visited the State Duma of the Russian Federation on the invitation of Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin and the two dignitaries held a meeting followed by delegation level talks.
On this occasion, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan thanked the Chairman of the State Duma of Russian Federation, Vyacheslav Viktorovich Volodin Volodin for accepting his invitation to visit Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the State Duma said that relations between our countries are developing and we should note the great contribution of the heads of our states in this regard. He said that parliamentarians within the parliamentary dimension should make their own contribution to strengthening cooperation, so that we could understand each other better.
Following the meeting, an Agreement on Cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of Pakistan was signed. The Chairman of the State Duma stressed that this would be a new level of relations. He said that we should do everything to ensure that the signing of the agreement will help to develop new formats of cooperation, make it more effective and mutually beneficial.
