At the meeting, the parties discussed the relations between customs and transport organs, prospects of cooperation in these fields and the issues related to customs points in Astara, Julfa, and Bilasuvar, Ministry of Transport reports. Wide opportunities for development of relationships between the two countries in all fields, and in customs and transport among them have appeared after the meeting of President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev with President of Iran Mohammad Khatami. The parties should widely use these opportunities.
At the meeting, the official of the Islamic Republic of Iran expressed his concern over false reports on President Heydar Aliyev’s health released by oppositional press.
Masud Karbasian highly appraised Ilham Aliyev’s appointment as Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan and said this appointment would positively influence progress in Azerbaijan, development of relations between the two countries.
