International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation presents new book in Astana

The presentation of the book "Abay in Azerbaijan and in the world" published by International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation held at the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Opening the presentation ceremony, Deputy Director of the Presidential Center of the Republic of Kazakhstan Botagoz Kayypova described the rich heritage of the thinker of Kazakhstan and the entire Turkic world Abay Kunanbayev. B.Kayypova highly appreciated the work done by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in the field of popularization of Abay's creativity both in Azerbaijan and around the world.
She expressed her gratitude for the publication of the book.
President of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Gunay Afandiyeva emphasized the importance of the presentation of a new book in Kazakhstan - the homeland of the great poet, novelist, translator, composer Abay Kunanbayev - published by the organization in the Azerbaijani language. Having stressed that the memory of Abay has always been highly revered in Azerbaijan, Gunay Afandiyeva recalled the words of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev: "Abay and his work are the pride and happiness of Kazakh people. It belongs to all mankind, including the Azerbaijani people". She also noted that in 2011, by the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, one of the streets of Baku was named after Abay Kunanbayev, and the "Center of Kazakh Language, History and Culture" named after Abay Kunanbayev began functioning at the Baku State University.
Gunay Afandiyeva spoke about the publication by the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation in Spain and the issuance of postage stamps on the occasion of the 175th anniversary of Abay, as well as the holding of "Abay Day" at the headquarters of the organization. She emphasized that the book "Abay Azərbaycanda və dünyada" ("Abay in Azerbaijan and in the world") in Azerbaijani language and in original contains poems of the poet, articles of Azerbaijani writers and literary critics on the outstanding personality, excerpts from the novel "Abay" by Mukhtar Auezov translated into Azerbaijani, the famous work "Words of edification", as well as his songs.
Speaking at the event President of the Turkic Academy Shahin Mustafayev, member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Ruslan Rustemov, member of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan, academician Nizami Jafarov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoglanov, Director General of the newspaper "Egemen Kazakhstan" Dikhan Kamzabekuly and Head of the Department of Humanities of the Institute of Abay Studies Altynay Askarova underlined Abay's rich creativity and highly appreciated the activities of the International Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation on large-scale promotion of Abay's heritage.
