IPU President praises COP29 organization and Azerbaijan's support for Small Island States

Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis, met with Tulia Ackson, Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania and President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), during her visit to Azerbaijan.
The meeting focused on Azerbaijan-IPU relations and the significance of COP29 in Baku.
Praising the exceptional organization of COP29 in Baku, Tulia Ackson commended President Ilham Aliyev for his personal meetings with the guests. She also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for providing a platform that allows Small Island States to make their voices heard at COP29.
The discussion also covered the support Azerbaijan has provided to Small Island States and the initiatives launched by Azerbaijan during its presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Both sides also explored the prospects for further strengthening relations between Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis and the National Assembly of Tanzania, along with other issues of mutual interest.
