Israel and New York launch joint economic council to boost innovation, trade

Israeli Minister of Economy and Industry Nir Barkat and New York City Mayor Eric Adams signed a Declaration of Intent to establish the New York-Israel Joint Economic Council, aiming to strengthen economic ties and promote innovation, according to the Press Service of Israel (TPS-IL).
The council will connect Israeli companies to the U.S. market, encourage collaboration in fintech, AI, life sciences, and environmental tech, and support Israeli startups establishing operations in New York.
With New York’s $2.3 trillion economy and the U.S.–Israel trade volume exceeding $53 billion in 2024, the initiative marks a strategic step in expanding bilateral economic cooperation.
