Lankaran hands over title of Youth Capital of Turkic World to Almaty

The city of Lankaran, Azerbaijan, has officially handed over the title of “Youth Capital of the Turkic World” to Almaty, Kazakhstan, AZERTAC reports, citing the press service of Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Culture and Information.
Lankaran was declared the Youth Capital of the Turkic World for 2024 at the 7th Meeting of Youth and Sports Ministers of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The closing ceremony marking the end of its tenure was held with the participation of youth delegations from OTS member states.
As part of the event, a conference simulating OTS operations and a volunteer training program were also organized.
President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev announced the selection of Almaty as the Youth Capital of the Turkic World for 2025 during the informal OTS Summit held in Budapest.
