Streets and prospects to be closed during Eurovision-2012 Song Contest
Baku, May 14 (AZERTAC). The Main State Traffic Police Office announced the names of streets and avenues of Baku to be closed for traffic due to Eurovision-2012 Song Contest.
The traffic movement will be restricted during the contest from the intersections of Bulbul and Azadlig Avenues with Nizami Street towards Neftchilar Avenue, from the intersection of Istiglaliyyat Street with Azerbaijan Avenue towards Aziz Aliyev Street, from Yusif Safarov Street till May 28 Street, from the intersection of Afiyaddin Jalilov Street towards Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street.
The entry of cars from 14th km of Baku-Salyan highway towards Bayil will be banned on May 19-28. The cars can enter the city through another road. Besides, the traffic movement will be restricted from 20th area towards Bayil and the movement will be directed to Badamdar settlement. The traffic movement will be restricted from Bayil settlement to Neftchilar Avenue.
The traffic would be restricted in several more roads during the Eurovision-2012 Song Contest. Thus, the traffic movement will be restricted from the intersection of Sheikh Shamil and Istiglaliyyat Streets towards Azerbaycan Street, from Gosha Gala gate - Youth Square towards “Besh Mertebe” circle, intersections of Parliament Avenue - Mehdi Huseyn Streets, Parliament Avenue - M. Mushfig Streets, from intersection of Narimanov Avenue - M. Mushfig Streets, near H. Aliyev Center towards Tabriz Street.
Division chief of Baku city State Traffic Police told that the Eurovision-2012 spectators will be carried by special buses in front of Samad Vurgun Park, Azadlig Square, Azneft Square, “Dalga Plaza” and Neftchilar Avenue- Museum Center.
The Main State Traffic Police Office addressed the car owners and called them not to use their cars in the above-mentioned streets and avenues, as well as Baku’s central parts during the contest.
