MFA OF GEORGIA MADE STATEMENT RELATED TO PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS IN THE SO-CALLED ABKHAZ REPUBLIC
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has made a statement connected to the elections, conducted 4 March to parliament of the so-called Abkhaz Republic, estimating it as a “next lawfulness“.
It is stated: “To speak on legitimacy of the elections conducted in condition of persecution of the majority of population, terror of the remained minority, contradicts the morals. Rough infringement of humanitarian norms and principles of the international law is an attempt to ignore the rights of refugees and legitimization of priority of the minority over majority”.
The Statement runs: “Despite the current situation, we stand ready without any preliminary conditions, to conduct direct dialogue with the representatives of all social strata or ethnic groups living in Abkhazia, to ensure in this region of Georgia the protection of collective and individual rights of our countrymen and create conditions for worthy co-existence in a common state”. The Foreign Ministry called on the international organizations, partners of Georgia and friendly countries, the world community to deservedly assess the attempts of separatists to legitimate current situation and not admit protection of aggressive separatism.
