MONTHLY MINIMAL SALARY AND PENSION RISE IS A REAL RESULT OF ECONOMIC ACHIEVEMENTS
In the opening speech to the conference, the Minister underlined successful reformation going on in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Heydar Aliyev. During 6 month of 2003, the volume of GDP increased by 10,5 percent investments - by 64 percent and the average salary - by 21,4 percent. In addition, two important decrees on minimal salary and pension rise have been signed by the President.
The Minister appraised this decision of the President as a real results of activities directed to strengthening of social security of poor families.
The Minister informed the audience that funds amounted at 201,9 billion manats will be withdrawn from the state budget and the budget of State social security fund.
Before rise of salary and pension, i.e. before the start of execution of these Decrees, the average amount of pensions and allowances in the country comes to 95 thousand 400 manats. After realization of the related items of the Decrees, this amount will come to 133 thousand 500 manats. Pension rise makes up averagely 40 percent, experts say.
