Morocco elected member of Board of Governors of International Atomic Energy Agency

During the 68th session of the General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, organized by the city of Vienna, Morocco was elected, by acclamation, member of the Board of Governors of the Agency for the period 2024-2026.
AZERTAC correspondent reported that Morocco affirmed on this occasion, through its ambassador and permanent representative to international organizations in Vienna, Ezzedine Farhan, its commitment to continue its efforts, during its term in the Board of Governors, to strengthen dialogue, negotiation and consensus building as well as fundamental criteria to strengthen multilateralism and promote nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation.
The ambassador also affirmed Morocco's commitment to contribute to strengthening the capacities of African countries in the field of the use of nuclear applications for peaceful purposes, particularly in the areas of water, agriculture, health and the environment.
