On September 16, a new school building, designed for 460 pupils and constructed by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the Baghirli Village Secondary School in Shamakhi district, was officially commissioned. Representatives from the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Shamakhi District Executive Authority, as well as teachers, students, and villagers, attended the event.
During the event, Shamil Azizov, a representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Vafa Yagublu, head of the Department for Content Teaching and Assessment in Education of the Ministry of Science and Education, and Tahir Mammadov, head of the Shamakhi District Executive Authority, congratulated the teachers and students on the inauguration of the new building. They spoke in detail about the government's efforts to advance education, strengthen the material and technical base of secondary schools, construct new educational institutions, and highlighted the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in this area.
It was noted that the Baghirli Village Secondary School, originally constructed in 1988, had deteriorated over time, leading to the decision to build a new facility.
Following the speeches, attendees toured the school to observe the new amenities. It is expected that 433 students will be enrolled during the 2024-2025 academic year.
The three-story school, consisting of two buildings, houses 21 classrooms, laboratories for physics, chemistry, and biology, rooms for information technology, military training, and first aid, a labor training room, a wardrobe, a library, a canteen, assembly and sports halls, and an outdoor sports ground. Renovation and landscaping were also carried out in the school’s backyard.
